Fotografía de recién nacido  *  Un sueño cumplido

2012 ha comenzado casi sin darme cuenta, Enero ha sido un mes de muchísima actividad, muchas sesiones, entregas, un viaje con workshop incluido, la visita de una gran amiga y la boda de mi pequeña "sorella".

Ya les iré compartiendo detalles de todo esto, pero hoy regreso aquí y quiero empezar por contarles mi experiencia en el workshop de Rachel Vanoven en San Francisco.

Desde que comencé a fotografiar bebés, los recién nacidos han sido mis preferidos y también los que más me han hecho romperme la cabeza. Felizmente tengo muchísima paciencia y habilidad para arrullarlos y mantenerlos tranquilitos, pero a veces sentía que mis fotos no mejoraban con la rapidez que mi experiencia en trato iba aumentando con cada sesión. Así que desde hace mucho tiempo tenía como una meta ahorrar para algún workshop de retrato de recién nacidos.

El sueño se cumplió este enero y no pude escoger mejor, Rachel además de producir unas fotos maravillosas, tiene una habilidad increíble con los bebés y vocación de enseñar.  El workshop fue un día duro, tuve que concentrarme todo el tiempo en otro idioma además de que recibí muchísima información, resolví muchas dudas  (algunas que ni sabía que tenía), y tuve varias epifanías.  =)

A continuación les mostraré algunas fotos de este día genial que seguramente no olvidaré nunca y a partir del cual espero poder ofrecer a mis lindos clientes, fotos muy especiales de sus pequeños y nuevecitos bebés.

Incluyo esta vez una traducción a inglés para poder compartir el post con mis compañeras.

A dream come true

2012 started almost unnoticed, January has been a crazy month full with sessions, finished packages to deliver, a trip with a workshop included, the visit of one of my best friends and my little sister's wedding.

I will be sharing with you details of all of the above later, but I will like to start with my experience in Rachel Vanoven's workshop in San Francisco.

Since I started shooting babies, I've enjoyed newborn sessions the most but also have been the most complicated and and challenging of them all. I do have a lot of patience with babies and the ability to sooth them, but I couldn't see my photos reflecting all the experience I felt I was gaining with my sessions. So, for a long time now I've had the dream to attend a newborn workshop to learn more and improve my results.   

The dream came true this month and I couldn't had chosen better, I found out that besides being able to produce beautiful shots, Rachel has a wonderful ability with babies and teaching skills. This was a hard day, I needed to be concentrated all the time in a different language, while literally absorbing all new information, solving doubts  (some I didn't even new I had) and many AHA moments. =)

Now I will show you some of the photos from the workshop, a day I will probably never forget and that will hopefully help me deliver very special images of their new babies to my sweet clients.

Primero que nada, un par de fotos del "detrás de cámaras", en un hermoso estudio de luz natural en San Francisco, en donde están Rachel y su otro yo...  =) En serio, su genial asistente Brandy Dawson preparando un bebé para una pose. Y por el otro Rachel con la pequeña Quinn.  ¿Pueden ver el cariño que le transmite a los bebés?

First I want to show you a couple of backstage shoots in this outrageous natural light studio, one with Rachel and her "clone"...  Nooo really her great/not a word needed asistant Brandy Dawson, posing a baby. And another one with Rachel and little Quinn.  Can you get all the love she gives to babies?

¡Ahora si!  Con toda la emoción del mundo les enseño algunas de las fotos finales que conseguí gracias a  las poses y props de Rachel y a los 3 hermosos bebés que participaron ese día.

The moment of truth!!!!  Full with emotion I share with you some of the final shots I could get with the posing, props and instructions from Rachel and the 3 beautiful little ones on the workshop.

Por último les quiero compartir unas fotos que dudé mucho en enseñar todavía.  Son composiciones de varias fotos editadas y que para lograr se necesita mucha experiencia y un asistente.  ¡La seguridad de los bebés es primero! Yo por ahora no me atrevo a intentarlas, pero esperemos que en un futuro no muy lejano consiga ser "rica y famosa" para tener un asistente.  XD

And last, here you will find a couple of shots I doubted if I should share now.  These are composites of two shots, made with the help of an assistant and a lot of experience. Babies security first!!!!!!  I won't be even trying them for some time, but hopefully some day I will be "rich and famous" and be able to get an assistant.  XD
