Captured by Claudia Mentoring

About one year ago I meet Claudia in person, I've known her for some time since we use to hang out in a photographer's group and I always loved her work and thought she was a very cool gal. So since I was going to be on her area and wanted to do some prop shopping, we planned a get together first which developed into a project and by the end of it we had a new amazing friendship.

Since then I thought that she was ready to start teaching, she has a very distinctive style, she's organized, patient and focused enough, but just recently she decided to go ahead with it and right when she told me I said  "I´m in!"  So she asked if I would participate in her launching video and obviously I said  "yesssss".

Let me tell you, BEST EXPERIENCE EVER.

I've done other workshops, and I've learned a lot really, but I was in this point where my work is ok but wasn't improving and there is so much you can change only by watching videos on youtube or following instructions on a pdf guide. What was amazing with Claudia is that first she did the posing and transitions, talking everything through while doing it and asking all the time what MY challenges were in each pose. And then MAGIC, there is nothing better to learn than DOING and meanwhile having someone observing and coaching you. She showed me small tips that make all the difference.

I couldn't believe the results I was getting and all the time in a very calm respectful environment.  I never felt like she was telling me how to do things, she was really coaching me to be better. All that "baby whisperer" energy she has with babies, she has with mentees also!!!  Made me feel I could do it and I DID!

You will see that her Mentoring Series covers everything, posing, transitioning, studio light, natural light, pops, marketing etc.  But most importantly she will observe you work and will make you feel empowered and give you the tools to improve yourself. That is in my opinion, the most important part of getting to mentor with her.  She makes it about you, not about her.

Yellow and purple, one clencher and other coliquy baby Which as you know, is perfect, bacause Claudia gave me all the tools to overcome it and get perfect poses anyway.

All the other sets are the photos I got to take while she was explaining and showing me transitions, prop posing, lighting, and angles.  All gorgeous well planned sets, you will see!!!!

Mi última sesión familiar de 2013 fue muy especial por varias razones. La primera porque es una familia que quiero mucho, que no vive en México y cuando vienen siempre hacen un esfuerzo por colarme en su agenda, pero además, es que a partir de 2014 ya no hago sesiones familiares más que en fechas determinadas que iré avisando en mi pagina de facebook.

Ya se veía venir, no me dirán que no. Amo las sesiones de recién nacidos y a partir de ahora me especializo todavía más en ellas.  No quiero dejar de ver a mis familias consentidas y por eso organizaré estas minis que por ahora pienso que serán para abril, pero fuera de eso, sólo maternidad y bebés  XD

En fin que conocer la personalidad de estos peques que no veía hace un par de años fue súper divertido. Me impactó que los dos muy en su papel, él de hermano mayor, más serio y seguía instrucciones muy bien y la pequeña, torbellino total, pero eso es genial porque da mucho juego, me regaló muchas expresiones diferentes, una más linda que la anterior.  En fin que aprovecho para compartir unas fotitos que me encantaron, no podía tener una preferida, cada una especial para registrar la relación de estos dos hermanos.

Y se acabó 2013, año maravilloso para mi, de muchísimo crecimiento, grandes emociones y muchas experiencias.

Estoy listísima para recibir al 2014, con la familia todos cerca y sanos, agradecida por todo lo que he recibido, muchos planes, muchos cambios e ilusionada de reencontrar a algunos amigos que por la distancia no veo tan seguido.  Pero siempre es lindo hacer un recuento, "cerrar el ciclo", y tomar unos momentos para agradecer lo vivido y darle a todo su espacio en el baúl de los recuerdos.

2013 is almost over, it was a year filled with growth, big emotions and amazing experiences for me.  I'm ready to welcome 2014, happy with all my family healthy and close, thankful for all that I've received, lots of plans many changes on the way and excited to see again some friends that I don't see often because of the distance.  But it's always good to close the cycles and take a minute to contemplate what we have lived.

Lo primero es agradecer a todas y cada una de las hermosas familias que me dan la confianza de fotografiar a sus pequeños. Es un honor y me dan la posibilidad de cumplir todos mis sueños ya que el trabajo que tengo es un sueño y además me pagan por ello así que con eso puedo viajar, aprender más y vivir.  ¡Gracias infinitas!  Cada uno de ustedes son especiales para mi y ver todas estas sonrisas y caritas juntas me ponen el corazón gordo de emoción.

First I want to thank to all the beautiful families that trust me to photograph their little ones, It's an honor and you give me the possibility to live my dreams. First of all working in what I love and then being able to travel, learn and live the life I want.  Thanks, thanks, thanks!  Each and every one of you has a very special space in my heart and to now make a review of all of the cute little faces I photographed this year makes me very happy!!!

Atesoraré por siempre las amistades nuevas. Este año tuve la oportunidad de conocer colegas talentosas pero sobre todo, hermosas amigas que estoy encantada de tener ahora en mi vida.

I will forever be grateful for all the people I get to know. Making new friends is a wonderful gift and this year I had the opportunity to meet incredible professionals, now many of them I can count as friends.  I learn so mo from you everyday an I am so happy to have you all in my life.

Y por supuesto a la familia y a mis amigos, que me apoyan siempre en mis locuras, me consecuentan, entienden mis largos periodos de ausencia y le ponen "like" a todas mis fotos  ;)  Especialmente toca agradecer la increíble experiencia de ser tía, porque la estoy disfrutando como nada.

And special thanks of course to my family and all my friends, that support me in every crazy adventure and love me despite my long periods of distance.  Always liking my work and being amazing!!!  Specially this year I thank for the amazing experience of becoming an aunt, this thing I'm enjoying like nothing ever before  ;)

Yeyyyy ¡estoy emocionada!  Por fin empiezo a tener disponibles las opciones impresas para mis fotos.
La verdad es que por conveniencia por muchos años he entregado discos con archivos digitales, y es una pena, porque las fotos en discos se olvidan, y las fotos merecen ser vistas una y otra vez.  No por las fotos en si, sino por las emociones y sentimientos que despiertan.

Así que recibí mi muestra de cubierta para el teléfono con la foto de mi sobri impresa y siento que estreno teléfono  ¡Me encanta!  y espero que todos mis clientes de 2013 puedan sentir la misma emoción.  No hace falta cambiar el equipo, sólo la ropita  ¿o ustedes que opinan?

Fotografía de bebes * Ya huele a navidad

Uno de diciembre y ya huele a Navidad por todos lados ¿no?  Bueno, siendo honestos, en las grandes tiendas huele a navidad desde septiembre, pero ahora si ya es generalizada la cosa.  Tengo que admitir que yo no soy muy navideña que digamos, no pongo arbolito y me sale el grinch que llevo dentro, pero las fotos navideñas, son mucho más monas eso si.  Así que desde noviembre, en mis fotos empiezo a incluir toques navideños y aprovecho hoy para compartir algunas.  ¡Para entrar en calorcito hoy que amaneció el clima tan frío!

Starting December and we can almost smell like christmas right?  In the big stores smells like that since September really, but now you can see it everywhere  ;)   I have to admit I'm kind of a grinch, not the biggest fan of this season, but I do start including some seasons touches in my photos because really the christmas photos are super nice!!!  Today is a really cold day in the city, so I decided I should start sharing some of these themed photos to dive in the season  ;)
